OUR PEOPLE – GIVING & OUTREACH
As a multi-generational, family owned and operated business, H&K has been unique in its ability to remain operationally transparent, engaged and employee centric throughout its corporate history. Effectively operating as a large, connected family of like-minded, focused, hard-working associates, teammates and friends, H&K has developed an amazing culture of trust, giving and camaraderie in its employee family through the years.
Never forced or synthetic out of convenience or business interest, this culture of giving and family-like connectivity has grown along with H&K over the last half-century. Large, family-run Corporation, large heart one might say, and over the years this natural pull to give, care for and be respectful towards each other has been a consistent theme since the very onset of the corporation.
Our people and the level of connectivity, giving and outreach that we have all shown and experienced through the years have been legendary. Though nearly impossible to list all things defining our people centric culture, we have endeavored to list several of the largest and most successful events that truly define who we are as a corporation, and who we’ve been since 1968: a group of hard-working, friendly, caring people.

Over the past 50 years, The H&K Group has maintained a corporate tradition of hosting fun-filled company picnics. These traditional events were conceived as a way to stop, gather with friends, family, customers and vendors for the day and reflect on the hard work and the success of all in attendance.
Beginning initially at each 5 year corporate Anniversary, H&K’s picnics soon transformed into something much greater in the 90’s and early 2000’s, eventually becoming a yearly August gathering at the home and estate of John B. VI and Linda Haines – with our most recent event occurring in 2008.
For all lucky enough to attend, H&K company picnics have been an expense-free day of fun, food, children’s games, antique vehicles, raffles and most notably, live music. Over the years, H&K has featured many high profile acts including; Willie Nelson, The Oak Ridge Boys, Tanya Tucker and Charlie Daniels Band just to name a few.
This year, to celebrate the company’s 50th Anniversary, the corporation will once again be hosting a grand company picnic with all of the tradition and fanfare of previous events. This year’s planned celebration will be held on August 4, 2018, and once again return to the home and estate of, John B. IV and Linda Haines. Our 50th Anniversary Celebration on August 4th promises to be the grandest H&K picnic experience to-date and will feature both local musical acts as well as headliner, Montgomery Gentry.

The H&K Group’s Rock & Roll Ride for Autism & Spina Bifida (The Rock & Roll Ride) is an annual motorcycle tour and riding event that was started by two H&K employees who, as motorcycle enthusiasts, envisioned an organized group riding event as a way to raise awareness and support for Autism. Quickly gaining support from H&K, our employees, and the riding community, the event became connected to Pocono Raceway. Initially hosted to provide much needed funding, awareness, and support for Autistic Spectrum Disorders, we teamed up with Hallman-Haines Foundation for Autism & Spina Bifida (HHFASB) in 2011 and have since earmarked them as the exclusive event beneficiary.
The Rock & Roll Ride is very unique from other corporate events at H&K; the day begins at The H&K Group’s corporate office in Skippack, PA, including registration, coffee and light fare. From Skippack the tour follows a 92 mile, scenic route to Pocono Raceway where participants are able to take marshaled parade laps around the famous tri-oval track. Over the past 10 years Rock & Roll Ride for Autism & Spina Bifida has raised over $154,000 for the Hallman-Haines Foundation, which has allowed them to help support individuals and families living with Spina Bifida and/or Autism by giving financial aid towards therapies, medical equipment, camps, research and much more.
